Is the heat starting to get to you?

If you’ve stepped foot outside your The Halstead apartment within the last few days then we’re sure you’ve noticed how smoldering hot it is. We wish we could tell you things will be cooling off, but they won’t. Today’s high is 99 degrees and the scorching heat is expected to last throughout the rest of the week including the weekend. With upcoming temperatures and the heat index expecting to reach triple digits we know you’ll be trying your hardest to stay cool. To help you in your quest to stay cool keep these tips in mind on how to beat the Houston heat:

  • Eat light and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
  • Avoid strenuous outdoor labor between 11am-4pm if possible
  • Wear lightweight, light colored, loose cotton clothing
  • Visit the pool for a cool and refreshing dip

Do you know of any other tips to help your fellow Halstead residents beat Houston’s unbearable heat?

    2. Ice Skating at the Galleria
    3. Enjoying a healthy and refreshing yogurt at Berripop
    4. Make popsicles from the organic juices and fruit at Whole Foods (so many choices!)
    5. Take a mini road trip to the beaches and The Strand in Galveston!
